Everything I build
starts as an experiment.

I'm Dillion, a full-stack developer with a research edge. I work across the stack, from interfaces people enjoy using to machine learning models and backend systems that stay reliable under pressure.

Open to research roles, graduate study, freelance work and collaborations.

Full-stack developer
with a research edge.

Three-plus years working with JavaScript frameworks, building web applications and tackling machine learning problems. I got into software through curiosity; it stuck because there's always something harder to figure out.

My work spans frontend engineering, backend APIs, embedded systems and deep learning research. I've shipped things people use and researched representations that improved on existing models.

BSc. Computer Science from the University of Ghana. Right now I'm working through C and Rust.

Where I've worked.

  1. Oct 2024 – Aug 2025

    Huawei Technologies
    Osu, Accra

    Software Product Manager

    • Reviewed UI flows and system behaviour with developers to verify usability, clarity and functional requirements.
    • Led cross-functional planning using Agile principles, keeping specs focused on maintainable, scalable implementation.
  2. Feb 2022 – Apr 2023

    Hedge Pensions Trust
    Osu, Accra

    Systems & IT Officer

    • Maintained business-critical internal systems and diagnosed infrastructure and application issues across the network.
    • Designed structured backup and recovery processes that improved data security and reliability.
  3. Sep 2022 – Nov 2022

    Bank of Ghana Hospital
    Accra

    Financial Officer

    • Short placement: cost forecasting, budgeting and accounting data in TriMed.

Selected experiments.

Each entry is written the way I work: a hypothesis, a method and what actually happened.

  1. Exp. 022026 – PresentPrivate · Product in development

    Sannu

    Hypothesis
A small organisation's website can answer visitors and book meetings without someone watching a chat window all day.
    Method
A private website assistant that answers only from knowledge the owner approves, books meetings with the right person and hands over to a human when it should.
    Result
In development. It will run on this site soon.
    1. 01Visitor asks

A widget added with one script tag. Replies stream in as they're written.

    2. 02Retrieve

Searches only the knowledge the owner approved, stored in PostgreSQL with pgvector.

    3. 03Answer

The model replies from those sources and says so when it doesn't know.

    4. 04Act

Books a meeting with the right person, or hands the visitor to a human.

Fig. 2 How Sannu answers a visitor. Questions it can't answer land in an inbox, so the knowledge grows where visitors need it.

    Progresso

    Hypothesis
Ghanaian Primary and JHS schools can share one platform while each school's records stay its own.
    Method
A multi-tenant school management platform built for the Ghanaian basic-school setting.
    Result
    In development.
    1. 01School address

Each school has its own address. The edge resolves which school a request is for.

    2. 02Token must agree

A signed-in user's school has to match the address, or the request stops.

    3. 03Scoped query

Services get no raw database handle, only one already filtered to that school.

    4. 04Explicit escape

Reading across schools needs a deliberately named call that's easy to audit.

Fig. 3 How Progresso keeps each school's records its own. This is replacing about 190 hand-written school filters across 29 services, any of which a future edit could drop. The seven highest-risk services have moved over; the rest follow as they are next changed.

    Pharmacy Management System

    Hypothesis
Pharmacy operations run smoother when inventory, transactions and workflows live in one system.
    Method
Component-based React and Tailwind frontend on Flask REST APIs with PostgreSQL.
    Result
A responsive app covering inventory management, transactions and business workflows.

    Legacy E-Commerce Refactor

    Hypothesis
A legacy shop can be brought up to current framework conventions without a rewrite from scratch.
    Method
Rewrote controllers, routes and views, resolved dependency conflicts and hardened security.
    Result
Ongoing: a more maintainable, more secure codebase on current Laravel conventions.

    Brain Cancer Image Classification

    Hypothesis
Classical models and CNNs can separate cancerous from healthy brain images.
    Method
SVM and CNN models trained on Kaggle datasets, with careful preprocessing and tuning.
    Result
A reproducible notebook comparing both approaches.

    Smart Bin Monitoring

    Hypothesis
Waste collection can be triggered by need instead of a fixed schedule.
    Method
An ultrasonic sensor measures fill level and a GSM module sends disposal alerts.
    Result

    Method

    Result
    Ongoing, in the open.
